Biosecurity policy

Officiane Bio recognizes the importance of the Safety and Biosecurity and we strictly follows the Genetic Technology Act and Council Regulation (EC) No 1334/2000 of 22 June 2000.

 
OFFICINAE BIO recognizes the importance of the Safety and Biosecurity. In accordance with European guidelines, OFFICINAE BIO has established and strictly follows the Harmonized Screening Protocol set by the International Gene Synthesis Consortium to promote biosecurity. OFFICINAE BIO screens all incoming orders against the IGSC list of select agents. This list is based on sequences identified by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), US Dept of Commerce (USDC), US Dept of Agriculture (USDA), the Australia Group and the Italian Ministry of Health. By placing an order using OFFICINAE BIO website, the customer declares and confirms that the DNA/protein/biological material requested to be produced pursuant to the respective order can be handled in a Biosafety Level 1 environment and that no special safety is required. By using OFFICINAE BIO website and/or placing and order, the customer declares and confirms that the DNA/protein/biological material will be used by only in accordance with applicable national and international laws and regulations, including without limitation the Italian Genetic Technology Act and Council Regulation (EC) No 1334/2000 of 22 June 2000. In particular, the customer declares and confirms that the DNA/protein/biological material design and/or synthesize and/or shipped are for civilian and research use only and do not qualify as products and/or technologies for dual use. Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, OFFICINAE BIO and/or its affiliates are entitled to withdraw from any order confirmation provided to the customer at any time for Biosafety and/or Biohazard reasons without any liability towards the customer.
